Nigerian award-winning artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has condemned a message by the police to Edo voters.

Naija News reports that the police had advised the voters to go home immediately after casting their ballots in the ongoing Edo State gubernatorial election.

The warning was given by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Frank Mba, overseeing election security.

Speaking during an interview with Channels Television on Saturday morning, Mba urged Edo residents to fulfill their civic duty by voting and then returning home immediately.

He also announced a restriction on vehicular movement in the state from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on election day.

Mba stated, “If you’re not accredited to participate in the election, you shouldn’t be on the streets. Cast your vote and return home; it’s your civic duty.”

However, Davido, who is aligned with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed disagreement with the directive.

Reacting to the video via his X account, Davido wrote, “Lol, go where.”
