We Know The Sponsors Of #EndBadGovernance Protest - Says PDP

Three activists, Adaramoye Michael “Lenin,” Mosiu Sodiq, and Simon Opaluwa, have regained their freedom after fulfilling the bail conditions set by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The trio were arrested in August during protests from August 1 to 10, where young Nigerians demanded an end to bad governance and a reversal of certain policies under the Tinubu administration.

The activists, along with seven other protesters, were charged with treason and subsequently arraigned before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

On September 11, 2024, the court granted bail to the ten defendants in the sum of ₦10 million each, requiring one surety in the same amount.

The trial judge specified that the sureties must reside in Abuja and own properties within the city, with documentation to be submitted to the court registrar along with an affidavit of means.

On Thursday, human rights activist and 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, confirmed the activists’ release via his official X handle.

He noted that the trio had successfully met the bail conditions imposed by Justice Nwite while also calling for the release of other detainees, including Isaac Bristol, known as #PidomNigeria.

He wrote, “Three of our comrades who’ve languished in prison for partaking in the #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria revolt have just fulfilled their bail conditions and are out of Kuje prison cells. They are; Michael Tobiloba Adaramoye “Lenin”; Mosiu Sadiq, Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo Simeon. We eagerly await the final release of others, including Isaac Bristol #PidomNigeria, as soon as possible.”
